Free radicals are unstable molecules which damage the DNA in our cells, leading to cancer. Free radicals can also lead to clogged blood vessels, heart attacks, and strokes. The antioxidants found in rooibos tea have been found to help neutralise these free radicals, diminishing the risk of cancer and heart conditions.
Aspalathin, an antioxidant found in rooibos, has been observed to improve glucose uptake and insulin secretion, which in turn stabilises blood sugar levels.
